In order to ensure peaceful elections, an inter-state co-ordination meeting of senior police officials of southeast district in New Delhi, Gautam Budha Nagar in Uttar Pradesh and Faridabad in Haryana was organised on Wednesday. The southeast district shares its boundaries with Jaitpur, Badarpur and Pul Prahladpur side and Noida from Kalindi Kunj and the DND border side, police said.

Polling in Gautam Budha Nagar will be held in the first phase on 11th April and in Delhi and Faridabad in the sixth phase on May 12. "Police officers from the three states discussed steps to be taken to tackle issues, including flow of illegal money, liquor and firearms," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal. 2 nabbed for stealing plastic granules

New Delhi, Mar 13 (PTI) The Delhi Police's Crime Branch has arrested two men for allegedly robbing a truck driver and stealing plastic granules, an official said Wednesday. On March 5, six armed persons waylaid the truck in Alipur area and looted cash worth Rs 7,000 from the driver's wallet, said said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajiv Ranjan.

They later ran away with the vehicle after assaulting the driver, he said. On Monday, police received a tip-off and a trap was laid, the official said, adding that one person, identified as Mohamddin, was apprehended.

During interrogation, Mohamddin revealed that he along with his four associates Rajesh, Shahanawaj, Amir and Nazmuddin had committed a dacoity and disposed off the plastic granules to two scrap dealers, Ranjan said. Later, one scrap dealer, identified as Nazmuddin, was apprehended and 325 bags containing the stolen plastic granules were recovered from his godown, Ranjan said.

Police said efforts were underway to arrest other accused persons. PTI NIT ******************

Two held for stealing vehicles

New Delhi, Mar 13 (PTI) Two men were arrested from northwest Delhi's Maurya Enclave area for allegedly stealing vehicles, police said Wednesday.

The accused have been identified as Vinod Yadav and Krishna, they said. A car, a bike, a pistol with six live cartridges, one country-made pistol with two live cartridges and four mobile phones were seized from their possession. PTI NIT


2 arrested for stealing bikes

New Delhi, March 13 (PTI) Two suspected burglars were arrested for allegedly selling stolen bikes on OLX, an online portal, police said Wednesday.

The accused were identified as Anshul Raghav and Anshul Kumar Pal, residents of Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad, they added. The two along with their friend Akash used to steal bikes and later sell them on OLX website.

They also prepared forged documents of the stolen bikes, police said, adding that raids were being conducted to trace Akash.
