Angola War Navy tracks pirate boats, more patrolling operations left

The commander of the ‘Ngola Kiluanje P200’ ship belonging to Angolan War Navy, Luís da Silva, opined on Monday, March 25 that the vessel is equipped with technology to track pirate boats illegally operating in Angola’s maritime coast. The ship is part of the fleet patrolling the Angolan coast under the Operation transparency launched on Monday.

According to the commander, the ship is ready to perform several patrolling operations related to illegal fishing, rescue, search, combat fires and hydrocarbon pollution.

The ship has capacity to accommodate 43 members of the crew, plus eventfully 12 rescued people. It has already conducted 50 operations up to 350 miles off the coast of Angola. The ship has autonomy to stay 35 days on the high sea.
