Punjab Local Bodies and Tourism Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu Wednesday said the allotment of 133 plots of the Improvement Trust which were not in possession of the legitimate beneficiaries was being reviewed.
The plots allotted under the local displacement quota were allotted over the last six years, Sidhu said at a press conference here.
The minister said the files pertaining to all these plots have been brought to his office for scrutiny.
He said the plots were allotted at very "nominal" rates. But later, they were sold at market rates to others, causing financial loss of Rs 600 crore to the Improvement Trust.
He claimed that all these plots were located in Amritsar and Ludhiana and they were in possession of "politically connected" people.
