China passes revised law on guarding state secrets - state media

China has passed a revision of the law on guarding state secrets, state media reported on Tuesday, following a regular meeting of the standing committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).

The revised law, which went through a previous revision in 2010, will provide a stronger legal guarantee for "doing a good job" in work deemed as confidential and for safeguarding China's national security and interests, said Zhao Leji, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee.
