Rejecting the exit poll predictions about the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress on Saturday expressed confidence in the people's mandate.

Most exit polls have speculated a win for BJP over TMC in the state. However, TMC leaders recall the 2021 assembly elections where despite predictions, TMC secured a two-thirds majority. 'We believe in people's polls, not opinion polls or exit polls. The TMC will win more than 30 Lok Sabha seats in the state,' party leader Santanu Sen stated.

Adding to this sentiment, TMC MP Sougata Roy, seeking re-election from the Dum Dum Lok Sabha seat for a fourth consecutive term, also dismissed the exit poll predictions. Similarly, CPI(M) leader Sujan Chakraborty emphasized waiting for the official results on June 4, noting the frequent discrepancies in exit and opinion polls.

In contrast, Suvendu Adhikari of the BJP claimed his party would secure a clear mandate and that the electorate would reject the TMC's governance.
