BJP Clinches Third Consecutive Victory in Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the Arunachal Pradesh assembly elections for the third consecutive term, securing 46 out of 60 seats. Chief Minister Pema Khandu was among 10 candidates who won uncontested. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude for the state's support and praised party workers.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a remarkable victory in Arunachal Pradesh, securing 46 seats out of 60 in the state assembly elections, according to Election Commission officials.

Votes were tallied for 50 of the assembly's segments, where elections were held concurrently with the Lok Sabha polls on April 19. Of these, the BJP won 36 seats. Additionally, the party claimed 10 seats unopposed, including that of Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude towards the people of Arunachal Pradesh, stating on X, “Thank you Arunachal Pradesh! The people of this wonderful state have given an unequivocal mandate to politics of development.” He also praised the dedicated efforts of BJP's party workers during the election campaign.

In comparison, the National People’s Party (NPP) secured five seats, the People’s Party of Arunachal won two, the NCP took three, the Congress won one, and Independents took three seats.
