Sanjay Singh Demands Ban on Exit Polls Amid Controversies

AAP leader Sanjay Singh calls for a ban on exit polls, claiming they have repeatedly been inaccurate. Exit polls have predicted a third term for PM Modi, which Singh argues misleads the public and influences the election process. He believes the INDIA bloc will secure 295 seats after the June 4 vote count.

Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Monday called for a nationwide ban on exit polls, arguing that they have been proven incorrect on numerous occasions. Several exit polls released Saturday predict that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led NDA will secure a third consecutive term with a substantial majority in the Lok Sabha polls.

During a press conference, Singh asserted, ''Exit polls should be completely banned as they have been wrong multiple times. They are an undue attempt to influence the electorate, the administrative system, and the election commission before the official counting.'' He further projected that the INDIA bloc would win 295 seats post the June 4 count.

Since the recent exit polls, BJP members have been celebrating and distributing sweets. Singh believes this is a false narrative aimed at swaying the count. ''Even the BJP leaders might be surprised or deceived by these exit polls. I think even the divine wouldn't believe the claim that BJP would secure 37% of the vote share in Tamil Nadu,'' Singh added. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also dismissed the exit polls as fake, questioning their legitimacy.
