BJP Leads with Majority in Election Trends, Congress Crosses 100-Mark

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) appears to secure a majority as it leads in 280 seats, according to trends available for 528 seats, the Election Commission data indicated on Tuesday.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was ahead in 234 seats by 10:30 am and secured the Surat seat in Gujarat without contest.
The Congress-led Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc showed a strong performance, leading in 200 seats – a result surpassing the exit poll predictions. However, the BJP faced significant losses in Uttar Pradesh, where the Samajwadi Party led in 33 seats. In Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) led by Chandrababu Naidu held an advantage, while the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) appeared poised for a poor showing in Odisha’s Lok Sabha elections.
