Congress Takes Lead in Tura While VPP Surges Ahead in Shillong

The Indian National Congress is leading in the Tura seat in Meghalaya as of Tuesday. According to the Election Commission, Congress candidate Saleng Sangma is ahead of NPP MP Agatha Sangma, who is the sister of the current Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, by 1,09,806 votes.
In Shillong, VPP candidate Ricky AJ Syngkon is outpacing three-term Congress MP Vincent H Pala by a margin of 1,90,699 votes. Meanwhile, NPP candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh is trailing in the third position.
