Indra Hang Subba Secures Lone Lok Sabha Seat in Sikkim
Indra Hang Subba of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) emerged victorious in Sikkim's only Lok Sabha seat, defeating Bharat Basnett of the Citizen Action Party by 80,830 votes. The SKM party also regained control of the state assembly, securing 31 out of 32 seats for a second consecutive term.

Indra Hang Subba successfully clinched the singular Lok Sabha seat in Sikkim, defeating his closest contender, Bharat Basnett of the Citizen Action Party (CAP-Sikkim), by a considerable margin of 80,830 votes. The 35-year-old incumbent MP emerged with 1,64,396 votes, while Basnett garnered 83,566 votes.
Celebrations ensued as SKM chief P S Tamang congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA on their victory in the 18th Lok Sabha elections. In a statement, Tamang reiterated his party's full support for the NDA, expressing optimism for the country's development and prosperity.
The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) continued its successful streak by securing 31 assembly seats out of 32, marking its second consecutive term in the state. SDF candidate PD Rai and BJP's Dinesh Chandra Nepal trailed behind, with Rai securing third place with 77,171 votes and Nepal finishing fifth with 19,035 votes.
