In a groundbreaking turn of events, at least five political leaders, predominantly from the BJP, have obliterated previous records for the highest victory margins in the Lok Sabha polls. Leading the charge is Indore's sitting MP Shankar Lalwani, who clinched a staggering winning margin of over 11.72 lakh votes.

Among the top contenders, Home Minister Amit Shah, ex-Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Gujarat BJP stalwart C R Patil each boasted more than seven lakh votes. Congress's Rakibul Hussain also showcased a commanding lead of over 7.36 lakh votes from Dhubri in Assam.

Previously, the highest victory margin record stood with BJP's Pritam Munde, who secured a win with over 6.96 lakh votes in a 2014 bypoll from Beed, Maharashtra. Patil, a three-term MP from Navsari, previously held the second-highest margin with 6.89 lakh votes in 2019, a record he has now surpassed with 7.67 lakh votes. The race is tight, with numerous leaders across the BJP and Congress continuing to establish remarkable leads.
