Mahesh Sharma Secures Third Consecutive Victory in Gautam Buddh Nagar

BJP's Mahesh Sharma won his third consecutive Lok Sabha election from Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, with a margin of 5.59 lakh votes. He received 59.69% of the total votes, defeating Samajwadi Party’s Mahendra Singh Nagar and Bahujan Samaj Party’s Rajendra Singh Solanki. The seat spans five assembly segments with over 26.75 lakh voters.

BJP's Mahesh Sharma on Tuesday secured a record third consecutive Lok Sabha election victory from Gautam Buddh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh by a significant margin of 5.59 lakh votes.

According to the Election Commission's website at 6.30 pm, Sharma garnered 8,57,829 votes, which accounted for 59.69% of the total 14,37,244 votes cast.

Samajwadi Party's Mahendra Singh Nagar trailed with 2,98,357 votes (20.76%), while Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajendra Singh Solanki secured 2,51,615 votes (17.51%).

Despite 12 other candidates vying for the seat, including Independent nominees, none managed to secure more than 4,000 votes. Remarkably, the NOTA (none of the above) option stood at the fourth position with 10,324 votes, accounting for 0.72% of the total.

Sharma's victory marks his continued success in Gautam Buddh Nagar, having previously won by margins of 2.80 lakh votes in 2014 and 3.37 lakh votes in 2019. This was his fourth attempt at the Lok Sabha seat, having lost in 2009.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Lok Sabha constituency encompasses five assembly segments: Noida, Dadri, Jewar, Khurja, and Sikandrabad. Of the 26.75 lakh registered voters in the area, 53.66% turned out to vote on April 26.
