In a surprising turn of events, four of the twelve legislators from Jharkhand who contested the Lok Sabha polls have emerged victorious, according to the election results declared on Tuesday.

The INDIA bloc had nominated seven sitting legislators, with four from JMM, two from Congress, and one from CPI (ML), while the BJP chose three MLAs as its Lok Sabha poll candidates. Additionally, two rebel JMM legislators contested as Independent candidates.

The election saw significant victories, including JMM legislator Joba Majhi's massive win in Singhbhum by 1.68 lakh votes, and BJP legislator Dulu Mahto's triumph in Dhanbad by 3.31 lakh votes. These wins will reduce Jharkhand's state assembly strength from 81 to 77 temporarily as re-elections are unlikely before the state assembly polls this winter.
