Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Wednesday his intention to ask BJP leadership to relieve him from his administrative duties to focus on the impending state assembly elections. The declaration follows the party's significant defeat in the Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra.
Fadnavis candidly admitted to the BJP's coordination issues with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar from NCP. ‘I take full responsibility for BJP's defeat in Maharashtra and acknowledge my shortcomings,’ he confessed.
During a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Mumbai, Fadnavis expressed his commitment to consult senior party members to address internal challenges and enhance strategies ahead of the assembly elections. ‘I will hold discussions with my seniors and act according to their guidance,’ he stated.
