BJP Sweeps Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha Polls: Detailed Analysis

In the recent Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh, BJP secured all 29 seats, with a marginal increase in vote share to 59.28%, while Congress saw a decline to 32.44%. Over 5.33 lakh voters chose NOTA. BJP’s Shankar Lalwani won Indore with the highest margin, while Shivraj Singh Chouhan clinched Vidisha.

In a significant turn of events, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has clinched all 29 seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections held in Madhya Pradesh, a top official revealed on Wednesday. This election marks a slight shift in voter preferences, with BJP's vote share inching up to 59.28% from 58% in the previous election, while the Indian National Congress (INC) witnessed a drop to 32.44% from 34.50% last time.

Remarkably, 5,33,705 voters exercised the NOTA (None of the Above) option, with Indore alone accounting for 2,18,674 such votes. The electoral battle saw a diverse group of candidates including 343 men, 25 women, and one transgender individual vying for seats. Shankar Lalwani of BJP secured an overwhelming victory in Indore by the largest margin of 11.75 lakh votes, commanding 78.54% of the ballots cast.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former state chief minister, also secured a decisive win in Vidisha with an 8.21 lakh vote margin, capturing 76.70% of the total votes. In other key constituencies, BJP's candidates Lata Wankhede, Jyotiraditya Scindia, and V D Sharma also dominated. Despite concerns, the Chief Electoral Officer confirmed the robustness of EVMs against tampering, with the model code of conduct concluding on Thursday.
