Congress Gathers to Strategize Post-Election Future

In a crucial meeting on Saturday, the Congress' top leadership convened to deliberate on the recent Lok Sabha election results and chart out future strategies. The extended Congress Working Committee (CWC) gathered at Hotel Ashok, with attendance from senior party leaders, Pradesh Congress Committee presidents, and Congress Legislature Party leaders from various states.

Among the notable figures at the meeting were party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The agenda included analyzing the party's performance and proposing measures to fortify the organization. Kharge, who convened the meeting, also hosted a dinner for all extended CWC members and MPs.

A separate Congress Parliamentary Party meeting is slated at 5:30 pm in Parliament's Central Hall, where the party's newly-elected MPs will elect the new Parliamentary Party chairperson, with Sonia Gandhi tipped for re-election. The Congress, improving its Lok Sabha tally to 99 seats, aims to leverage its newfound strength to challenge the government on critical issues like price rise and unemployment.
