Telangana CM Backs Rahul Gandhi as Leader of Opposition

In a significant development, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has voiced strong support for Rahul Gandhi to assume the Leader of Opposition role in the Lok Sabha. This comes as the Congress, which secured 99 seats in the recent general elections, deliberates the future course of the party during its Working Committee meeting.

Speaking about the unanimous sentiment, Reddy said, "Our demand is the same as that of 140 crore people of the country that Rahul Gandhi has to take the position of the leader of the opposition." He highlighted Gandhi's decade-long commitment to addressing crucial issues such as the plight of farmers, women's rights, and unemployment.

This marks the first opportunity for Congress to claim the opposition leader's post since being ousted from power in 2014. The Congress camp is abuzz with discussions, especially with Gandhi's strong victories in both Wayanad and Rae Bareli constituencies, making him a front-runner for the position.
