In a strategic move to strengthen the coalition in southern India, Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is preparing to induct several Members of Parliament (MPs) from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana into his Council of Ministers, according to sources on Sunday.
Modi, who is set for a third consecutive term as Prime Minister, will take the oath along with his council members on Sunday. Among the anticipated inductees are two MPs each from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the BJP in Andhra Pradesh, where the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured a remarkable 21 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats.
Noteworthy names include three-time MP Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu potentially securing a Cabinet position and first-time MP Dr Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani likely to be appointed Minister of State. Additionally, notable appointments are expected from the BJP's quota in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as well as from Karnataka, highlighting Modi's efforts to consolidate his party's influence in these key regions.
