Pankaj Chaudhary, a seasoned politician from the OBC Kurmi caste, has made headlines once again as he takes oath as Minister of State for the second time in the new BJP-led NDA government. Chaudhary's political journey commenced as a corporator in the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation, a position that marked the beginning of a vibrant career filled with electoral successes and challenges.

Starting as an independent councillor in 1989, Chaudhary soon became the deputy mayor of Gorakhpur. His political trajectory saw a significant leap when he joined the BJP and won the Maharajganj Lok Sabha seat in 1991. This initial success was followed by two more consecutive victories in 1996 and 1998, showcasing his stronghold in the constituency.

Despite facing defeats in 1999 and 2009, Chaudhary’s resilience led to his re-election in 2004, and he achieved another hat-trick with wins in 2014, 2019, and 2024. Currently, Chaudhary continues to be an influential figure in Indian politics, assuming his role as Minister of State for the second time in Narendra Modi's Cabinet.
