DMK's Anniyur Siva to Contest Vikravandi Bypoll

DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin announced Anniyur Siva as the candidate for the July 10 bypoll to Vikravandi Assembly constituency. Siva, the agriculture workers wing secretary, will be backed by allies including Congress, the Left parties, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, and IUML.

In a significant political move, DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has nominated Anniyur Siva as the party's candidate for the forthcoming bypoll in the Vikravandi Assembly constituency set for July 10.

Siva holds the position of secretary within DMK's agriculture workers wing. With the unwavering support of alliance parties like Congress, the Left parties, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, and IUML, he is set to contest the byelection.

This bypoll was necessitated due to the demise of Villupuram district DMK leader N Pugazhenthi, who had served as the MLA for the Vikravandi constituency until his passing on April 6, 2024.
