Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended his congratulations to BJP leader Pema Khandu, who was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for a third consecutive term on Thursday.
As the convenor of the BJP-led North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), Sarma was present at the swearing-in ceremony in Itanagar, where he also congratulated the newly sworn-in Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein.
In a post on social media platform X, Sarma wrote, 'Many congratulations to Shri @PemaKhanduBJP ji and Shri @ChownaMeinBJP ji on taking oath as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and to all their colleagues in the Council of Ministers.'
Sarma emphasized that the emphatic victory of BJP in Arunachal Pradesh is a testament to the enduring trust people have in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the 'policies of our double-engine government.' He expressed confidence that the new government would continue with its pro-people policies, driving rapid growth in the state.
