BJP Demands Justice After Tamil Nadu Hooch Tragedy

BJP's P Sudhakar Reddy has called for Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister M K Stalin to take moral responsibility for the hooch tragedy in Kallakurichi. Reddy demanded the immediate dismissal of Prohibition and Excise Minister S Muthusamy and called for a judicial probe. Stalin has set up a one-man commission to investigate.

BJP national co-incharge for Tamil Nadu affairs, P Sudhakar Reddy, on Thursday, urged Chief Minister M K Stalin to take moral responsibility for the hooch tragedy in Kallakurichi, pressing for the immediate dismissal of Prohibition and Excise Minister S Muthusamy.

In a press meeting, Reddy demanded a judicial probe by a sitting judge into the incident that has claimed over 35 lives due to the consumption of illicit liquor.

Reddy criticized the government's focus on electoral success over public welfare, citing Stalin's target of winning 200-plus seats in the 2026 assembly elections as evidence of misplaced priorities.
