Congress Issues Whip for Speaker's Election Showdown

The Congress has issued a three-line whip to its MPs to ensure their presence in the Lok Sabha at 11 AM on Wednesday for the Speaker's election. Congress chief whip K Suresh, who is also the joint opposition candidate, is set to contest against NDA's Om Birla.

The Congress party has issued a stringent three-line whip, directing its MPs to be present in the Lok Sabha at 11 AM on Wednesday for the crucial election of the Speaker’s post.

The whip, circulated by Congress chief whip K Suresh, emphasizes the importance of the presence and support of all Congress members in the House from 11:00 AM onwards on June 26, 2024, until the House adjourns, to back the party’s stance.

K Suresh also stands as the joint opposition INDIA bloc candidate, challenging NDA's Om Birla for the prestigious Speaker's position.
