On Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged protests both inside and outside Parliament following Rahul Gandhi's provocative comments in the Lok Sabha, where he accused the ruling party members of promoting division and violence.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the issue seriously, asserting that Gandhi's statements were tantamount to calling the entire Hindu society violent. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with other senior ministers, demanded an immediate apology from the Congress leader.
Union Health Minister and BJP President J.P. Nadda also lambasted Gandhi on social media, claiming Gandhi insulted millions of Hindus and spread lies about critical national issues. Nadda and other ministers have urged Gandhi to apologize not only to the general Hindu populace but also to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for his 'poor taste' remarks directed at the Chair.
