Rajasthan Unveils 'Aditya Budget': A Step Toward Viksit Bharat

Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari presented the state's budget for 2024-25 on Wednesday, aligning it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma emphasized the budget's focus on job creation, promising 4 lakh government jobs for youths and an immediate goal of providing employment to one lakh young people within a year. He also highlighted plans to increase youth participation through the opening of sports colleges and organizing the 'Khelo Rajasthan' event at the district level, aiming for talent development ahead of the 2036 Olympics.

Various BJP leaders supported the budget's direction. BJP leader Rajendra Rathore termed it Rajasthan's 'Aditya Budget,' projecting the state's development until 2047 with significant capital expenditure. Rajasthan BJP President CP Joshi pointed to promises fulfilled, such as subsidized gas cylinders, reduced fuel prices, and increased pensions and 'Kishan Samman Nidhi'.

The budget, which estimates state revenues at Rs 2.64 lakh crore and expenditures at Rs 2.90 lakh crore, aims to make Rajasthan a 350-billion-dollar economy. Key initiatives focus on basic amenities, sustainable development, empowerment of farmers, development of MSMEs, heritage conservation, health for all, social security, and enhanced governance under the 'perform, reform, transform' mantra.
