Union Minister Alleges Karnataka CM's Involvement in Valmiki Development Scam

Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje has called for the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, alleging his involvement in the Valmiki Development Corporation scam and demanding a CBI probe. The alleged scam involves Rs 187 crore and purportedly funded Telangana elections.

Union Minister and BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje has alleged Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's involvement in the Valmiki Development Corporation scam, demanding his resignation on Wednesday. According to Karandlaje, a significant Rs 187 crore is involved in the scam.

'On July 3, I wrote to the Union Home Minister and demanded a CBI probe into this. Despite the ongoing CBI probe, the Karnataka government created an SIT to conceal the scam,' Karandlaje stated. She further mentioned that while the CBI is investigating, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Bellary.

'Siddaramaiah, along with former minister B Nagendra, is implicated in this case. As the Finance Minister, no transfer of Rs 187 crore could happen without his authorization,' she asserted. She also claimed that the funds were used to finance the Telangana elections. According to Karandlaje, the scam came to light following a postal officer's suicide, who was allegedly forced to transfer the money.
