A committee constituted by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) convened meetings on Thursday to analyze the party's poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana.

Headed by senior leader and former deputy chairman of the Rajya Sabha P J Kurien, the three-member committee engaged with candidates who had contested in the elections.

Warangal Congress Lok Sabha member Kadiam Kavya revealed that the panel inquired about the party's strengths and weaknesses and discussed measures to fortify their position.

MLA Danam Nagender, who ran unsuccessfully in the Secunderabad constituency, communicated the flaws that influenced the LS poll results to the committee.

He assured reporters that Congress remains optimistic about winning the Secunderabad parliamentary constituency in the future.

State Congress Working President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud and other notable leaders also held discussions with the panel members.

Having arrived in Hyderabad on Wednesday night, the committee additionally includes Rakibul Hussain and Pargat Singh among its members.

In June, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge constituted separate committees to evaluate the party's performance in several states, including Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh where Congress governs, and Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Uttarakhand where the party failed in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
