By-elections held earlier this week saw the INDIA bloc parties clinch four assembly seats and lead in six, while the BJP secured one seat and led in another. These results emerged as votes were counted on Saturday, according to trends on the Election Commission (EC) website.
The bypolls, conducted across 13 assembly seats in states such as Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Tamil Nadu, involved key parties including Congress, TMC, AAP, and DMK. In Punjab, AAP's Mohinder Bhagat won the Jalandhar West seat, signaling significant support for the ruling party.
In other notable results, DMK's Anniyur Siva led in Tamil Nadu's Vikravandi seat, while TMC secured strong victories in multiple West Bengal constituencies. The Congress performed well in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, BJP and Independent candidates showcased commanding leads.
