INDIA Bloc Triumphs in By-Elections, Secures Majority of Assembly Seats

In a significant boost to the INDIA bloc, its member parties have won 10 of the 13 assembly seats in recent by-elections across seven states, as per the vote counts tallied on Saturday. The BJP managed to secure only two seats, while an Independent candidate claimed one.

The Congress party emerged victorious in four constituencies—two in BJP-governed Uttarakhand and two in Himachal Pradesh. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) swept West Bengal's four seats, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) clinched the Jalandhar West seat in Punjab, and the DMK won in Tamil Nadu's Vikravandi constituency. The BJP managed to secure a victory in the Hamirpur seat in Himachal Pradesh, while Independent Shankar Singh triumphed in Rupauli, Bihar.

Congress leaders hailed the results as indicative of a changing political climate in India. Likewise, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin celebrated their respective party wins, emphasizing regional sentiments and thanking the voters for their support.
