BJP MLA Alleti Maheshwar Reddy on Saturday alleged significant corruption in the execution of the central government's drinking water scheme in Telangana, questioning Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's involvement. "The fund of Rs 3,500 crore was given to our state under the drinking water scheme. There is a big scam that has happened," stated the BJP MLA.

Criticizing the Chief Minister, Reddy questioned the intent behind awarding crores worth of tenders privately. "I want to ask the Chief Minister why you are attempting to secretly give tenders to certain people. Today we have posed a challenge to all the conspiracy behind this. Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) are old friends. They have tried killing democracy. What they are doing is undemocratic," he added.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, echoing similar sentiments on Thursday, lambasted the BRS and the ruling Congress party, accusing both of political opportunism. He said that leaders frequently switch allegiances between BRS and Congress depending on who is in power. Further emphasizing that BJP stands with the people, not with either BRS or Congress, he alleged that the Congress government is currently "looting" the people in a manner akin to how BRS did during its rule.
