Modi, already the most followed head of government globally, has followers far exceeding those of opposition leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi, whose follower counts are 27.5 million and 26.4 million respectively. Comparatively, U.S. President Joe Biden and Turkiye's Recep Tayyip Erdogan have 38.1 million and 21.5 million followers respectively.
In a celebratory post, Modi expressed delight in reaching this milestone and emphasized his commitment to engaging with the vibrant community on the platform. Officials highlighted that Modi's follower count surpasses even prominent athletes like Virat Kohli, Neymar Jr, and LeBron James as well as celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and Kim Kardashian. Political leaders globally eagerly engage with Modi on social media, as it notably enhances their own followings and engagement metrics.
Modi's social media presence extends to YouTube and Instagram, where he possesses nearly 25 million subscribers and over 91 million followers respectively.
