Donald Trump accepted the Republican Party's presidential nomination on Thursday, urging unity and recounting a harrowing assassination attempt as he outlined campaign promises to revitalize the economy and tackle immigration issues.
The 78-year-old former president's speech at the four-day Republican National Convention marked his first public address since surviving the attempt on his life at a Pennsylvania rally last week. 'I stand before you in this arena only by the grace of almighty God,' he said, recounting the life-threatening incident.
Trump criticized President Biden's administration, claiming, 'If you took the ten worst presidents in the history of the United States and added them up, they will not have done the damage Biden has done.' He pledged to end the illegal immigration crisis, tackle inflation, and restore America's prosperity.
