In a veiled attack on the ruling BJP amid speculations of an internal rift, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav emphasized that 'welfare of the people' should eclipse both government and party organization.

Yadav's remarks come in the wake of comments and a cryptic social media post by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, fueling rumors of discord between him and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

On Friday, Yadav stated on platform X, 'Neither the organization is big, nor the government. The goal is public service. Disputes over superiority only reveal greed for power.' He further accused the BJP of being 'power-oriented' rather than 'service-oriented.'

Deputy CM Maurya's recent statement, 'The organization is bigger than the government,' made during a BJP working committee meeting, added to the intrigue. This statement followed a meeting between Maurya and BJP President JP Nadda, further stoking speculation about a rift with Adityanath.

At a gathering at the Dr Lohia Auditorium in Lucknow, Yadav addressed the alleged power struggle within the BJP, blaming it for administrative failures and corruption. He accused the BJP of seeking to weaken democracy and imposing dictatorship, citing recent state government orders and controversial policies.

Yadav asserted that the Samajwadi Party remains dedicated to social justice and that public sentiment is turning against the BJP's divisive tactics.
