The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday criticized Lt Governor VK Saxena for allegedly implying that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is deliberately neglecting his health. The AAP accused the BJP of plotting to harm Kejriwal while he is in judicial custody in Tihar Jail. This follows a communication from the LG office to the chief secretary expressing concern over Kejriwal's refusal to follow his prescribed medical diet and medication.

The letter cited a report from Tihar Jail's superintendent, noting instances of Kejriwal's 'willful low-calorie intake' and failure to take insulin as recommended. The issue has escalated tensions between the BJP and AAP, with the latter alleging that the BJP is using Kejriwal's health to mount a 'sinister plan' against him.

Senior members of both parties are exchanging barbs, with AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh criticizing Saxena's comments and Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva accusing Kejriwal of staging a sympathy ploy. Amidst the heated exchanges, Kejriwal remains in Tihar Jail on charges linked to an excise policy scam.
