West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav severely criticized the “morally defeated” BJP during the TMC’s Martyrs' Day rally in Kolkata. The duo predicted the imminent collapse of the saffron party-led government at the Centre.
The rally, held six weeks post-Lok Sabha elections, saw TMC and SP celebrating significant victories over BJP in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, respectively. Both parties are members of the national opposition INDIA bloc.
In a swift response, BJP dismissed their remarks, labeling them as mere dreams. Banerjee accused the central government of power acquisition through intimidation while Yadav echoed the sentiment, suggesting communal forces would ultimately fail. The BJP, however, remains confident, citing their consecutive electoral triumphs.
