Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday criticized the Modi government for renaming the iconic 'Durbar Hall' and 'Ashok Hall' at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The halls have been renamed 'Ganatantra Mandap' and 'Ashok Mandap' to align with India's republican values, according to a statement from the President's Secretariat.

Joining Gandhi in her criticism, Congress MPs Shaktisinh Gohil and Karti Chidambaram accused the government of focusing on superficial changes rather than substantive development.
