NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday expressed concerns over the "rift" among communities regarding reservation issues, urging the Maharashtra government to engage more with stakeholders.
The veteran politician, speaking after releasing a book at a university in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, stressed that dialogue with stakeholders had been insufficient. "The chief minister talks with one set of people, while others in the government hold talks with different groups. This creates misunderstanding," Pawar said.
He shared his feedback with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who seemed open to more dialogue. Pawar emphasized including Maratha activist Manoj Jarange and others committed to OBC reservation for talks to address concerns. He also discussed upcoming assembly polls and seat-sharing among Maha Vikas Aghadi partners, including the need to engage Left parties in the alliance. Additionally, Pawar commented on state schemes like 'Ladki Bahin' and 'Ladka Bhau,' urging the government to clarify their long-term impact.
