Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Saturday criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of extending a red carpet welcome to Bangladeshis and Rohingyas and aiming to create a new nation.
During his two-day visit to Jodhpur, Singh, who interacted with textiles, handloom, and handicraft business people, also expressed concerns about India's population explosion and called for a population control law.
Speaking to reporters about Banerjee's comments on giving shelter to Bangladeshi citizens, Singh claimed, 'Although Mamata is a chief minister, she wants to create a new nation.' He added that Bengal has become a gateway for Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, making it difficult for Hindus and prompting businessmen to flee.
