On Tuesday, the Congress party condemned the BJP and its MP Anurag Thakur for seemingly questioning Rahul Gandhi's caste. The party emphasized the Gandhi family's legacy of martyrdom, a concept they argue the BJP and RSS will never grasp.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized Thakur's comments in the Lok Sabha, noting that a significant portion of India's population demands a socio-economic caste census. She questioned if Prime Minister Narendra Modi endorsed such statements.
Congress's media head Pawan Khera reiterated that the BJP’s derogatory statements have incited public anger. He stressed that the Gandhi family's history of sacrifice cannot be undermined and asserted that the fight for a caste census and justice will persist.
