Launching scathing attacks on the Delhi Government over deaths in Asha Kiran Shelter Home, Congress leader Abhishek Dutt highlighted overcrowding and insufficient medical care, claiming government hospitals are only for publicity.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari voiced concerns over the deplorable conditions at the shelter home, stating that mentally challenged inmates lack proper food and medical care. He questioned the moral right of the Aam Aadmi Party to remain in power.
An official report revealed 14 deaths at the shelter home in July alone. Delhi Minister Atishi confirmed a magisterial inquiry, with a preliminary report expected within 24 hours, vowing strict action against any negligence found. Meanwhile, NCW Chief Rekha Sharma and NCPCR Chairperson Priyank Kanoongo also called for accountability and detailed reports on the incident.
