Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia sharply criticized the Congress on Saturday for opposing the Mandal Commission and engaging in divisive caste politics to create rifts within Indian society.
Scindia, the Union Minister for Communications and Civil Aviation, accused the Congress of being envious rather than proud of the rapid development occurring in the country.
Scindia further asserted that Congress is on the path to political obsolescence, citing its inability to secure seats in 13 states during the recent Lok Sabha elections and its declining performance over the past three general elections.
In addition, Scindia praised Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for the central government's approval of the 88-kilometre high-speed road corridor between Gwalior and Agra. The project, estimated at Rs 4.613 crore, aims to be completed in one-and-a-half years.
