BJP's Rohini MLA Vijender Gupta was named the new leader of opposition in the Delhi Assembly on Monday, taking over from Ramvir Singh Bidhuri who resigned after being elected to the Lok Sabha.
A former Delhi BJP president, Gupta addressed the critical need for leadership as governance under AAP faces challenges, calling for an assembly session to discuss urgent issues.
During the legislative party meeting at the state BJP office, Gupta's unanimous election was endorsed by top party officials, including Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and general secretary (organisation) Pawan Rana, with Gupta promising to highlight AAP's 'failures' and push for pro-people governance under BJP.
