Congress workers, spearheaded by state chief Jitu Patwari, staged a protest in Indore on Tuesday, accusing the BJP-led civic administration of scams amounting to Rs 2,000 crore.

Eyewitnesses reported that the police used a water cannon to disperse the protesters as they attempted to breach the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) premises by removing barricades, leading to injuries among some Congress workers and two media personnel.

Patwari criticized the BJP, claiming that the civic body was involved in large-scale corruption related to drainage projects and other initiatives. He demanded an honest investigation, suggesting that past BJP mayors could face jail time if the scams were fully exposed.
