BJP MLA Kirori Lal Meena, who resigned from his ministerial post in Rajasthan days ago, stated on Friday that he seeks to leave his position in the Bhajanlal Sharma government because the people did not value him.
Meena's resignation came after the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) disappointing results in certain Rajasthan seats during the Lok Sabha elections. However, his resignation remains unaccepted.
''I resigned from the ministerial post in this government because the people I served for 45 years did not heed my words,'' said Meena.
At a tribal day function in Dausa, Meena spoke to a large gathering and vowed to prevent any tampering with reservation policies.
''Before the election, people speculated that if Narendra Modi came to power, he would abolish reservations. Modi is now in power, and it is Dr. Kirori Lal's responsibility to ensure that no tampering with reservation policies occurs,'' the BJP leader added.
