Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai has condemned Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's comments about the ongoing situation in Bangladesh, branding them as 'low-level' rhetoric. Rai accused Adityanath of using religion to incite animosity for political gains.

According to Rai, Adityanath is focusing on spreading 'religious hatred' in UP rather than holding the BJP government accountable at the Centre. These remarks come in the wake of several anti-government protests in Bangladesh that led to the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Rai highlighted that the entire opposition extended support to the government during an all-party meeting on the Bangladesh crisis. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not attending the session, thus showing alleged insensitivity towards the issue.
