Hunter Biden's criminal tax trial is scheduled to begin on Sept. 5, with sessions set from Tuesday to Friday each week. Notably, an extra session is slated for Monday, Sept. 9, due to scheduling adjustments by the overseeing judge.

The Department of Justice has charged the President's son with failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes over the period from 2016 to 2019. The indictment also cites allegations of extravagant spending on drugs, escorts, and luxury items. Hunter Biden has entered a not guilty plea to these charges.

In a previous legal development, Biden was convicted in June by a federal jury in Delaware for lying about his illegal drug use in order to purchase a firearm. This conviction made history as he became the first child of a sitting U.S. president to be convicted of a crime.
