Electoral Showdown: Vance vs. Walz in Anticipated Debates
U.S. Vice Presidential candidates JD Vance and Tim Walz will face off in debates this fall. Vance, Donald Trump's running mate, has agreed to multiple debates, while the Harris campaign, backing Walz, is planning for one vice presidential and two presidential debates involving Kamala Harris and Trump.
U.S. Vice Presidential candidates JD Vance and Tim Walz are set for a series of debates this fall, starting October 1 on CBS. Vance, running with former President Donald Trump, announced on social media that he had accepted debate invitations, including one on CNN.
The Harris campaign, representing Democratic rival Tim Walz who is running alongside Kamala Harris, has stated there will be only one vice-presidential debate. However, they are preparing for two presidential debates, the first of which is scheduled for September 10 on ABC News.
Harris and Trump are expected to clash again in October, though the date and network are yet to be decided. Trump's campaign had previously declined primary debates but shifted stance for the September ABC matchup after Biden's departure and Harris's entry reshaped the race. This dynamic shift has also reflected in energized campaign fundraising and tightening polls.
