The BJP is aiming for a third consecutive victory in the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls, scheduled for October 1, even as it faces a formidable contest from a resurgent Congress banking on anti-incumbency sentiments.

In a strategic move to counter the Congress challenge, the BJP replaced former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar with Nayab Singh Saini. While Khattar transitioned to a Union minister role, Saini won the Karnal Assembly bypoll and is now the BJP's chief ministerial candidate.

The BJP has been in power since 2014 and seeks to showcase its governance record, including welfare schemes, to appeal to voters. However, it must navigate the anti-incumbency wave. Meanwhile, Congress, led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda, is focusing on unemployment, law and order, and farmers' issues to regain power.
