Yunus Assures Modi on Minority Safety in Bangladesh
Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser to Bangladesh's interim government, assured Prime Minister Narendra Modi of safeguarding the safety of Hindus and minorities in their first discussion post-Sheikh Hasina’s government. Modi emphasized India's support for a democratic, stable, and progressive Bangladesh. Both leaders vowed to strengthen bilateral ties in line with national priorities.

Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser to the interim government in Bangladesh, reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, assuring the protection, safety, and security of Hindus and all other minorities in his country.
This marked the first conversation between Modi and Yunus following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government. Modi stated in a social media post that he reiterated India's firm support for a democratic, stable, peaceful, and progressive Bangladesh.
Modi highlighted India's unwavering commitment to backing the people of Bangladesh through various developmental projects. He also stressed the critical importance of ensuring the safety and protection of Hindus and other minority communities in Bangladesh. Yunus assured him that the interim government would prioritize the security of all minority groups. Additionally, both leaders discussed advancing bilateral relations in alignment with their national priorities.
