The AIADMK on Friday announced its intent to reclaim governance in Tamil Nadu, led by its general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, as part of their strategy for the 2026 Assembly elections.
During an emergency executive meeting, party members endorsed Palaniswami's leadership, aiming to unseat the current DMK government and continue the legacy of iconic leaders M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa. Over 200 members attended, with Presidium Chairman A Tamil Magan Hussain presiding.
Resolutions criticized the DMK for inadequate distribution of essential goods and power tariff hikes, urged the Central government to aid landslide-hit Wayanad, and decried the lack of Tamil Nadu-focused projects in the Union Budget.
